How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Disease Fellowship Training Program of SUNY Upstate Medical University. We are very excited about the future of our Maternal Fetal Medicine Division.

NOTE: Only U.S. Citizens/permanent residents and J-1 visas sponsored by the ECFMG are considered for clinical training. We do not accept HI-B visas or applicants with "pending permanent residency" status. If a J-1 visa holder, the applicant must have adequate time to complete fellowship prior to losing J-1 status (3-year total).

Fellows are selected solely through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and join the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

The NRMP match number is:

Access the Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database (FREIDA) for more information. We require all medical school graduates to submit the following in their ERAS application:

  • Application Form
  • 3 letters of reference (more than 3 letters is ok!)
  • CV
  • Personal Statement
  • USMLE test scores
  • A photo is appreciated, but not required

Interviews

Each year, the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is fortunate to interview 30 to 40 qualified applicants.  Applicants are selected from ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System) using selection criteria.

The Fellowship Selection Committee will review your application after receipt of a completed application form. Due to the high volume of applications, applicants are strongly urged to refrain from calling to inquire whether an interview has been granted.

If you are selected for an interview you will be contacted by the Fellowship Coordinator Karen Davis.
